One more person recovered over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of discharged patients to 2,973.

Two of the new cases were students who arrived in Bangkok from Pakistan on Saturday. Four people, including an 11-year-old student, returned to the capital from the United Arab Emirates on Friday and one returned from the United States on Thursday.

Dr Taweesilp said from now on, the CCSA cancel regular press briefings on Saturday and Sunday as the number of the new cases and deaths have dropped and restrictions are being eased.

The spokesman said he will give the briefing on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and his assistant, Panprapa Yongtrakul, will take over the podium on Tuesday and Thursday.

Briefings on weekends will only take place if the situation warrants it, he said, but the latest information will always be posted on and
