Thai Department Of Land Transport Resumes Normal Services Starting June 21st

19 Jun, 2021

The Department of Land Transport (DLT) announced earlier today they will be resuming normal services effective on June 21st after a pause due to Covid-19 concerns and preventative measures, however, they will be working on clearing a backlog of previous appointments before accepting new ones.

This will include the Pattaya and Chonburi DLT branches.

Services to resume include issuing and renewing licenses and driving tests, although some individual branches may still have delays and queues on when these services can take place, notes TPN media.

Priority is set to be given to those who had previously booked appointments when services were previously suspended on April 16th until now. New appointments will be allowed to be made after August 1st when the current several-month backlog is expected to be cleared.

DLT director-general Chirute Visalachitra made the announcement to the National Thai News Bureau and associated Thai press, adding that strict Covid-19 preventative measures would still be taking place at all DLT locations.

For individual issues with licenses or questions, such as around about to expire or already expired licenses, TPN media suggests residents contact their local DLT directly.

Appointments and information can be reviewed here, in the Thai language, or on the DLT smart queue mobile app. https://gecc.dlt.go.th.
