A brand new elephant café’ has been launched as a new Pattaya attraction in Nongprue.
The grand opening yesterday of the ‘Mong Chang Café’ (Look at Elephants in Thai) was led by the Pattaya City Mayor Sonthaya Khunpluem and the manager of the Pattaya Elephant Village Mr. Purimprat Chaiyakam.
Mr. Purimprat told The Pattaya News “The Pattaya Elephant Village was closed for more than five months due to the COVID-19 situation.”

“We have designed this café during the closure period for tourists and local residents who like animals and want to drink coffee at the same time.” Mr. Purimprat continued.
“All income from the coffee will be used to buy food for more than 20 elephants as well as for mahouts and our staff who have been severely affected from the COVID-19 situation.”
“Each elephant needs roughly 200 kilograms of food per day to stay healthy. We also want to educate people about elephants and these wonderful animals.” Mr. Purimprat continued.
“We believe this café is going to be a new landmark in Nongprue which is not far from Pattaya. We also believe it will be very popular with domestic Thai tourists.” Purimprat continued.
