24 Feb, 2020

A 54-year-old Chinese woman infected with Covid-19 (new coronavirus) who travelled from Wuhan has been discharged from hospital and was on her way home yesterday after making a full recovery, according to the Public Health Ministry.

Sukhum Kanchanapimai, the permanent secretary for public health, said the total number of Covid-19 cases in the country remained at 35 as of Friday, of whom 21 have already been discharged.

Among 14 remaining patients, the condition of the two most serious is stable although they are both still on respirators. The rest are on their way to a full recovery. So far, 1,355 patients have been investigated for the disease, he said.

Mr Sukhum warned the public not to travel to China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Iran and Italy. Those returning from these countries should self-quarantine for 14 days at home, he added.
