The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has banned the sale of all alcohol in the capital for 10 days from tomorrow (April 10), in the latest measure aimed at curbing the escalating Covid-19 crisis.

The prohibition covers both wholesale and retail sale of alcohol and will last until April 20, said BMA spokesman Pongsakorn Kwanmuang.

The move follows similar bans on the sale of alcohol in other provinces, including Sakon Nakorn (from March 31-April 16), Chiang Mai (April 10-20), Rayong (April 3-15), Buri Ram (April 2-30), Mudaharn (April 6-30), Supan Buri (April 4-30), Nakhon Pathom (April 2-30), Lampun (April 1-30) and Surin (April 2-30).
