BANGKOK, 28 August 2019: The Tourism Authority of Thailand has recruited 33 hotels in Hua Hin, to join the ‘Amazing Hua Hin 2019’ promotion, that lops off as much as 50% from room rates during September.
The discounts are available for bookings by phone or email made in advance with the participating hotels. The promotion code AMAZING HUA HIN must be used when making a booking.
If the hotels insist the discount applies to what the industry calls a “rack or walk-in rate”, it is not much of a deal. However, if the hotels play fair, then the discount should be on their best available rate as stated on the website.
But there is no guarantee that the rate will be cheaper than what Agoda or Booking.com offer. If participating hotels are smart, they will pitch the Amazing Hua Hin rate a few dollars lower than what the OTAs are quoting as they are saving huge commissions by encouraging consumers to book direct.
The participating properties joining the promotion are a mixed bag of international brands, boutique hotels and owner-owned and operated SME hotels.

Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Prachuap Khiri Khan Office organised the promotion to boost bookings during a typically wet September when occupancies at Hua Hin hotels drop through the floor.
