13,256 New Covid Cases, 131 More Deaths

Thailand logged 13,256 new Covid-19 cases and 131 more fatalities during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Thursday morning.

Of the new cases, 12,778 cases were among the general population and 478 were found in prisons.

The number of new cases increased from 11,252 on Wednesday, when the country recorded 141 more deaths.

 

On Wednesday, 13,829 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus.

 

Since April 1, when the third wave of Covid-19 began, Thailand has treated 1,495,750 Covid-19 patients, 1,352,936 of whom have recovered to date.

Since the pandemic started early last year, there have been 1,524,613 Covid-19 cases, with 1,380,362 complete recoveries so far.

The death toll stood at 15,790 during the third wave and 15,884 since the beginning of the pandemic.

The single-day records peaked in mid-August, with 312 deaths on Aug 18 and 23,418 cases five days earlier.
