Thailand officially drops the mask mandate in the public area.
The Thai Government, in a late-night order released around 10:00 P.M. on June 23rd, 2022, has dropped a divisive mask mandate in all public areas.
The mandate previously required one to wear masks in all public places, even outdoors or alone.
The wordage of the legally binding Royal Gazette order is as follows, in a summary and not a word-for-word translation:
The Ministry of Public Health has moved to wear a mask or cloth mask as a voluntary practice.
It is recommended, but not mandated, to wear one in crowded areas, in large groups of people, and in poorly ventilated places.
People at high risk of Covid-19, like the elderly, with pre-existing conditions, and at-risk should wear a mask properly at all times. However, this is not “mandated”.
The order is effective immediately and signed by Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha.

Feeling like Myeong-dong vibes at Siam Square Bangkok!
How long has it been since you last visited Siam Square? If you do find yourself back, you probably won’t recognize it. The favorite hang-out spot of Bangkok’s trendy youths has recently revealed a whole new look.
Many liken the recently transformed Siam Square to Myeong-dong, Seoul’s popular shopping area. The Bangkok hotspot now features modern architecture and lots of LED screens advertising the area’s best buys.
The revamp also comes with more space for pedestrians and open areas that can host communal events like live music performances and talent showcases. The new Siam Square also has an updated roster of shops, cafés, and restaurants. As PMCU explains, the aim is to turn Siam Square into a place that connects people and businesses, with a focus on creativity and innovation.
What the area lacks, however, is greenery. Most visitors have commented on how Siam Square doesn’t have enough trees to provide shade for passersby, which makes it relatively unappealing to wander around during noon.

Enjoy a ride around Rattanakosin Island with Eco-Friendly Tuk Tuk
"Tuk Tuk Ride" is one of the "MUST DO" while you are in Bangkok! ITC BANGKOK now has an alternative "A cool 100% electric Tuk Tuk" that moves silently through the hustle and bustle of Bangkok.
Clean and silent
There are very many reasons why we (and you soon) are fans of E-Tuk Tuk.
Bangkok is a great city, but the air pollution is terrible! That’s partly why E-Tuk Tuk is such a fantastic addition to the city’s public transportation system. 100% electric tuk-tuks contribute quite a bit to a cleaner and quieter Bangkok.
It is expected that by the end of 2022, there will be more than 1,000 electric tuk-tuks running through all the neighborhoods of Bangkok! Perhaps the next step is an E-Longtail boat through the canals of Bangkok?
