WHO Director praises Thailand as a good model for containing COVID-19

The director of World Health Organization (WHO) has praised Thailand for being a successful model for containing the spread of COVID-19, despite the fact that there is no vaccine yet, said Dr. Panprapha Yongtrakul, spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Health, today (Sunday).

The State Railway of Thailand has launched the 'Rod Fai Loi Nam' programme for a day trip to Pasak Jolasid Dam in Lop Buri.

The reservoir is the country's longest water-retention clay dam. It is one of a kind where a railroad runs along the dam's edge.


Thailand to Launch Largest Train Station in Southeast Asia

Thailand plans to launch the Bang Sue Grand Station, its mega infrastructure project in 2021 which will be the largest railway station in southeast Asia. The railway station will not only help ease Bangkok’s traffic congestion but also support the country’s role as a regional transportation hub, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, states.


Thailand “relaxes” visa criteria to draw in more tourists

In an effort to revive the tourism industry after a quiet 7 months without foreign tourists, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says they’ve “relaxed” the criteria for issuing tourist visas and are now allowing foreigners from countries considered a “medium risk” for spreading Covid-19 to apply for a tourist visa.

Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) is the process of quarantine at government-approved hotels in Thailand at the traveler’s own expense. For non-Thai nationality travelers, many hotels together with hospitals launched Alternative State Quarantine Packages for those who are traveling to Thailand during this time.
